VMR FUNDING
All personnel are volunteers, no paid staff
. Crew members perform 12 hours duty once every 3 weeks
. Crew members participate in, crewing vessels, maintenance, fund-raising and training
Contrary to popular belief, only slightly over 10% of our operating cost is borne by government funding
. VMR Raby Bay personnel raise the rest of our funds via their own efforts
. Funds come to us via various sources
Sources include:
. Friday collections - Pubs & Clubs
. Saturday Collections - Shopping Centers
. Recovery of costs from people rescued
. Generous donations from organizations & Individuals
Funding is the most critical aspect with replacement of a major rescue vessel expected to cost circa $500 000.00
. Development of qualified personnel important to meet increasing requirements for service
VMR Raby Bay is very much a community organization
. Community members working hard to ensure safety of boating public
. Keen to develop relationships with other community service organizations
