Australian Maritime Safety Authority control major offshore events
Coastal Waterways fall under the jurisdiction of State Water Police
Our Focus is Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS)
. Volunteers provide assistance to Water Police to effect search & rescue activities in their local area
. VMR also provides radio coverage for vessels operating in the local area
. VMR may also respond to requests for assistance directly from boat skippers
